Venus, a 7-year-old German Shepherd Mix, lost her life at BARC Houston. She arrived as a stray on April 14, 2026, and shelter notes described her greeting staff with a wagging tail, wiggly body, and soft eyes. Eight people pledged $300 to help her. Her loss was reported by u/fugueink in the April 23 BARC list update.
